Going a wee bit Green…

St. Patty’s Day is tomorrow! Are you ready to Break out the Green? Personally I have very little heritage within the Irish culture. My dad is 100% Polish and my mom is English, German, Scotts-Irish, and one time she told me “Quaker” which I thought was more of a religion then a heritage so she still has me pondering about that one. Which makes me 50% Polish and 50% mix. My husband gets so made at me because I always defend my “Polish” heritage and never speak up for the English and German in me. No offense to my hubby but us Pollock's have a lot to defend! Has he not heard the jokes and one liners out there??? Believe me he has, I’ve even heard a few slip out of his mouth before. He is just so proud of his English heritage and has every right to be, it’s actually kind of cute how into it he gets. However I was raised on Kielbasa, Potato Pancakes, Golumpki (Stuffed cabbages), and of course home made pirogues! MMmmmmm Mmmmm !

However for one day a year we I can pretend to be Irish. Here is a collection of fun pictures I collected on honor of St. Patty’s day!

I need this shirt for St. Patty's Day #SnorgTees

{ My t-shirt for St. Patty’s Day 2013 when I live in Iowa }
Wish I would have seen this in time to send to my Iowa friends for St Patty's Day!  Love it!{ How a Steelers Fan Rolls on St. Patty’s Day! Bought this for my bro last year}

{ If you haven’t had a Green Beer you should try it! }

{ The Irish Car Bomb will be the death of her…}

{ An Excuse to dress like a Leprechaun }

{The only day creepy guys can get away with “KISS ME” Shirts..}

{ Another day to dress your pet up and humiliate them …}

{ And the Finale’!!! }

You Can't even make that stuff up... HAHAHAA

Happy St. Patty’s Day!

December Birch Box Recap

Well well… first Blooper of birch boxing, my December box just got here (Jan 3rd)! I received an e-mail around December 14th saying that “We are sorry for our tardiness but due to a short in one of your items we had to hold back your shipment”. Come on! Just throw something else in there for heaven sake and ship the thingy!

I’m just now posting this today because I like to tryout the items for a week then give my input. So here it is!

Dry shampoo, Energy powder, perfume, body oil,

Sticky tape for clothes, lip gloss

Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo: I love this product, The fact that I got a mini one is great cause I have it in my purse for emergency use! Would I buy a full can of it for $23.00? Most likely not. I enjoy my L'Oreal bottle for $8.00 at Wal-Mart.. and it smells like tropical yummy-ness.

Atelier Cologne: Ambre Nue - .21oz = $185 This stuff must have crack cocaine in it because there is no way I would spend that much on perfume. I’m not a fan of the scent either. Maybe people in France have better scent glands then I do? That’s okay with me. :)

Jouer – Moisturizing lip gloss: I LOVED the gloss that came in my November birch box. Smoothing with a hit of subtle pink. I’m a neutral kind of gal which is why this is yet another disappointment. It says you can apply a little and just have a hue of pink but even that is too much for me. I am zero for three here! I still say that I would buy the other Jouer lip enhancer from last month though. It’s on my list!

Nuxe- Dry oil shimmer: $56 .21 OZ – At first I thought this was a gold nail polish because the little bottle looked like it would hold nail polish. I was a little hesitant to use this because it was soooo shimmery but to my surprise when you run the oil on your skin it looks more like a Glow and not glitter from my past 6th grade dance. (You know you use to wear it!) You can even rub a little in your hair. I think this item would be perfect for a night out at the bars or on a date night.

Prep- ShowStoppers – I haven’t had the need to use the double sided tape as of yet. But there are some weddings in the future that I’m sure I will need this tape for on my dresses.

Recharge eboost- Orange natural energy boost: It’s a powder that you add to water for a quick boost. It wasn’t too bad… def. Tangy! I did feel energized for a bit as well. $28 for 20 packets

Once again, I do love birch box even if I didn’t love all that it had to offer this month. That’s the fun of this, getting to test drive items and if I really fall in love with them I will buy.

I also will give props to Birch Box – Even though my package came late they gave me 100 points towards my account which was pretty awesome. Thanks Birchie :)

I should have my January Birch Box here any day now. :)

Vacation back east wrap up

I am posting this on day 1 of my trip back home to Lakota Land as Geo and I call it. Obviously, I am exhausted from a week of running everywhere trying to visit family and friends. People get left out and it feels really bad but we all live in different areas and have our to do's over this crazy week, so I can only hope that next time will be different.

I've come to realize that living in South Dakota isn't the hard part of living away from everyone. People adjust easily to their surroundings. What's hard is coming home. You want to be able to do everything that you use to do before you moved and want it to be the way it was before you left, truth is , it isn't. People adjust to you being away as well.

As tired as I am I was blessed to be able to see my family on both sides. Geo and I were able to split time with my family as well as his during this trip. Usually, it feels like one side gets the short end of the stick. Here are some highlights of my trip!

  • Seeing everyone at the Rigdon Open house Christmas eve & seeing George’s 1 year old cousin Weston for the first time since last year!
  • Winston playing his Christmas presents = super funny & entertaining
  • Going up to my parents from Christmas to Wednesday evening
  • Going bowling with my mom and sisters and rolling the best game of my life! 175!!!
  • Seeing my brothers new house! (and organizing a little for him :)
  • Going to Baltimore with our friends Adam and Kristin. Went to the Brazilian steak house, walked by a “Needle Exchange Van”, Went shopping on the Inner Harbor
  • Spending time with George’s Uncle’s family on new years. George held a baby for the first time! So cute!
  • Spending New Years with friends but not getting drunk.. sometimes its fun to watch everyone else. I was a hit with Kristen’s niece “Hannah”.
  • Going back to see my family to say Good-bye on Sunday.

Things I missed out on :(

  • Seeing my BFF…
  • Going to a friends Bridal Shower
  • Seeing my Grammy– She went to Orlando for the holiday

Things that have changed majorly since I moved:

  • My willingness to deal with mall traffic and people has diminished…
  • Went to Grottos on Main St. with my husband, sisters, and brother…. didn’t see anyone that I knew. (I’m getting old)
  • Clothing – I don’t think it has changed, I just have adapted to my climate and region a little more.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their break and had a Wonderful Holiday.

{ On the Third Day of Cricut... }

On the Third Day of Cricut my crafter gave to me: DIY Christmas Decor!

I have been working on my Christmas Decor and wanted to search for some great ideas for next year! Oh geez... Christmas isn't even here yet and already I am saying "next year"! I'm sure all of you ladies feel the same way. Here are some of the ideas that I came across.

I love the idea of this frame art. I definitely wouldn't mind taking down some of the "farm" frames we have up in the house and putting something like this up for the season just to switch things up a bit.

I have yet to use my cricut to make Vinyl lettering. It's def. on my 2012 list! I've seen a lot of ornament detailing while browsing. Such an easy way to dazzle up a plain ornament! You can also use the vinyl lettering for Wall Scripture, photo frames, Pillows... ETC!

I love the twist on this frame!

Another easy project! Would look really cute across the top of my kitchen cabinets!

And the finale'!

We'll see about these... more of a time commitment but I love the idea!

Happy Cri-cutting!

Also, I wanted to give credit to the crafters who made these items so if their tag isn't on the picture, then I linked the photo I used. There are some great Cricut Blogs out there!
