Thanksgiving 2014

I still can’t believe that 2015 is only 28 days away! I just got use to writing 2014 on everything and now I will have to start over once again. On top of that does anyone else feel like Christmas literally slapped them in the face the day after Thanksgiving? 3 weeks! Seriously? Haven’t we ha more time in between these holidays in past years or is it just me?

Well since it takes me forever to post I better give my Thanksgiving wrap up prior to Christmas Day.

1. We had much to be Thankful for this holiday, I have been officially Baptized and George and I have both joined as members of our church community. It really was a special day to be able to affirm my beliefs by going through this process. It’s been something that has weighed on me for a long time and to be able to make this decision as an adult has been wonderful.

2. Half of my family made the road trip out to Iowa this week, of course I missed seeing my brother and other sister but I’ll take what I can get! We had a blast catching up, going to the Festival of Trees & Lights, bowling, a little shopping, and some cookie decorating!

This is Katie… she is a dog whisperer. They seemed to just LOVE her to death when she is around!

We are all competitive so breaking out the old school N64 was tons of fun.

No one can beat G though….

G wasn’t able to join us for bowling but we still had so much fun. I scored a 135 on each of my games!

I will say the highlight of the week was making these cookies with my mom and sister. I found the box at Wal-Mart for $6.00 and you just needed eggs, butter, and confectioner sugar which I had at home. Best way to bring family together!

We even posted our photos on social media to get votes on who’s were the ugliest sweaters. Katie and mom got the most votes but dad’s happy face cookie got the most responses of, “what happened to #1?”

Usually I would be sad to see them go but it’s only 3 weeks until we visit again!

I’m counting down. Hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday!
